Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground lean beef
  • 1/4 c. finely cut onion
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. hot fat
  • 1/2 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 c. catsup or chili sauce
  • 8 split sandwich buns

Method

  • Brown meat and onion in fat slowly in a skillet, stirring with fork to break up meat.
  • Spoon off any fat left in skillet.
  • Stir into meat mixture the milk, salt and pepper.
  • Cook and stir over low heat until mixture thickens.
  • Remove from heat and stir in catsup.
  • Spoon meat mixture into buns.
  • Serve hot, 2 to a serving. Makes 4 servings.
