Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/4 c. (14 oz. can) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 tsp. maple flavoring
  • 2 c. pecan halves
  • 1 c. flaked coconut

Method

  • Melt butter in 9 x 9-inch baking pan in oven while preheated to 350°.
  • Remove from oven; stir in graham cracker crumbs.
  • Press onto bottom of pan.
  • Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until deep golden brown.
  • Beat egg lightly in medium bowl; stir in sweetened condensed milk and maple flavoring.
  • Stir in pecans and coconut. Pour pecan filling over hot crust; spread evenly.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until center is set.
  • Cool completely in pan or on wire rack.
  • Cut into 2 1/2 x 1 1/2-inch bars.
  • Makes about 1 1/2 dozen bars.
