Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. frozen (chopped) spinach, cooked and drained
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped onion (fine)
  • 1/2 c. evaporated milk
  • 1/2 c. vegetable liquor (from spinach)
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 3/4 tsp. celery salt
  • 3/4 tsp. garlic salt
  • 6 oz. roll jalapeno cheese
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

Method

  • Cook spinach and drain.
  • Reserve liquor.
  • Melt butter in saucepan over low heat; add flour, stirring until smooth (but not brown).
  • Add liquids, slowly, constantly stirring.
  • Cook until smooth and thick.
  • Add seasonings and cheese.
  • Stir until all melted.
  • Combine spinach.
  • This can be frozen and heated slowly before needed.
