- 2 pkg. frozen (chopped) spinach, cooked and drained
- 4 Tbsp. butter
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 2 Tbsp. chopped onion (fine)
- 1/2 c. evaporated milk
- 1/2 c. vegetable liquor (from spinach)
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 3/4 tsp. celery salt
- 3/4 tsp. garlic salt
- 6 oz. roll jalapeno cheese
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Method
- Cook spinach and drain.
- Reserve liquor.
- Melt butter in saucepan over low heat; add flour, stirring until smooth (but not brown).
- Add liquids, slowly, constantly stirring.
- Cook until smooth and thick.
- Add seasonings and cheese.
- Stir until all melted.
- Combine spinach.
- This can be frozen and heated slowly before needed.
