Ingredients

  • 2 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 c. butter or margarine, softened
  • 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. finely chopped onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 to 5 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled (reserve 1 Tbsp. bacon drippings)
  • 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
  • 1 c. cottage cheese
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1 egg, beaten

Method

  • Pastry:
  • In large bowl beat together cream cheese and butter with electric mixer until smooth.
  • Gradually beat in flour and salt.
  • Knead dough lightly by hand.
  • Cover dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate 3 hours.
