Ingredients
- 2 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
- 3/4 c. butter or margarine, softened
- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. finely chopped onion
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 to 5 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled (reserve 1 Tbsp. bacon drippings)
- 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
- 1 c. cottage cheese
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1 egg, beaten
Method
- Pastry:
- In large bowl beat together cream cheese and butter with electric mixer until smooth.
- Gradually beat in flour and salt.
- Knead dough lightly by hand.
- Cover dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate 3 hours.
