  • 1 can (15 Oz. Size) Low-Sodium Black Beans, Drained And Rinsed
  • 2 Tablespoons Tahini
  • 1/4 teaspoons Paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoons Chili Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoons Cumin
  • 18 teaspoons Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Onion, Finely Diced
  • 1 Tablespoon Jalapeno, Finely Diced (Remove Seeds And Ribs For Less Heat)
  • 1/4 cups Rolled Oats Or Panko Breadcrumbs, More Or Less As Needed

  • 4 whole Hamburger Buns Or Sandwich Rolls
  • Other Burger Toppings, As Desired

Method

  • Mash about half of the beans with a potato masher, fork, or soup ladle (whatever you have!).
  • Make sure not to mash them up too much, or the inside of the burger will be mushy.
  • Add remaining unmashed beans and tahini and carefully mix together, being sure not to overmix.
  • Add in a pinch of each spice (the listed amounts are just suggestions) and the diced onions and jalapeno, and mix to combine with a fork.
  • Feel free to customize it and add other textures to your burger like corn, seeds, etc.
  • Next, mix in breadcrumbs (or oats), 1 tablespoonful at a time, until it all comes together and reaches a moldable consistency.
  • Form into patties and heat up oil in your pan if youre using the stove.
  • Add patty to hot oil, and flip once browned, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Cook until browned on the other side and heated through.
  • Serve on hamburger buns with all your favorite toppings and enjoy!
