Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. white Karo corn syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 c. walnut halves

Method

  • For syrup, cook over medium heat approximately 5 minutes. Test the thickness of the syrup by putting small amount of the mixture in cold water to form soft ball.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add nuts.
  • Stir the nuts until well coated.
  • Lay out on aluminum foil to set.
  • Cool.
  • Store in an attractive container, these make a wonderful hostess gift during the holidays.
