Ingredients
- 1 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 2/3 c. egg whites
- 3 Tbsp. cold water or 2 Tbsp. lemon juice and 1 Tbsp. water
- 1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
Method
- Add cream of tartar to egg whites before beating. Then beat until whites form peaks, but not too dry.
- Gradually add sugar, then the flour.
- Place the batter in an angel food cake pan.
- Bake at 300° for 30 minutes.
- Increase the temperature to 325° and bake for 15 additional minutes.
