Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. vegetable oil
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. shredded or finely chopped cooking apples (unpeeled)
  • 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Beat sugar, oil and eggs until blended. Add flour, soda, cinnamon and salt mixture gradually. Stir in vanilla, apples and nuts. Spread in 9 x 13-inch oiled baking dish. Bake at 350° for 40 minutes or until it pulls from the sides of pan. Spread with Maple Frosting while cake is still warm. May be topped with additional nuts.
