Ingredients

  • 1 c. rice (uncooked)
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or bacon grease
  • 1/4 c. bell pepper
  • 1/4 c. onion

Method

  • Bring to a boil the rice, water and salt.
  • Turn heat down to low setting and cover with a lid.
  • Simmer 14 minutes.
  • Saute bell pepper and onion in butter or bacon grease until onion is tender. Add this to the rice, then add tomato sauce and pepper.
  • Mix thoroughly and simmer 10 minutes.
