Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 lb. ground pork
  • 1 c. fine dry bread crumbs
  • 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 Tbsp. minced parsley
  • 2 small cloves garlic, cut fine
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 4 Tbsp. hot fat
  • 1 c. minced onion
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 5 c. cooked tomatoes (two No. 2 cans)
  • 6 Tbsp. minced parsley
  • 6 Tbsp. minced green pepper
  • 2 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 3 tsp. sugar
  • 2 small bay leaves, crumbled
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • hot, drained, boiled spaghetti
  • grated sharp cheese

Method

  • Mix the first ten ingredients and form into 1 1/2-inch balls. Pan-fry minced onion and the meat balls until browned in hot fat. Blend in flour.
  • Add remaining ingredients, except spaghetti and cheese, and simmer about 1 hour.
