- 3/4 lb. ground beef
- 1/4 lb. ground pork
- 1 c. fine dry bread crumbs
- 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 Tbsp. minced parsley
- 2 small cloves garlic, cut fine
- 1/2 c. milk
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 4 Tbsp. hot fat
- 1 c. minced onion
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 5 c. cooked tomatoes (two No. 2 cans)
- 6 Tbsp. minced parsley
- 6 Tbsp. minced green pepper
- 2 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 3 tsp. sugar
- 2 small bay leaves, crumbled
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- hot, drained, boiled spaghetti
- grated sharp cheese
Method
- Mix the first ten ingredients and form into 1 1/2-inch balls. Pan-fry minced onion and the meat balls until browned in hot fat. Blend in flour.
- Add remaining ingredients, except spaghetti and cheese, and simmer about 1 hour.
