Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 lb. ground round, crumbled
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire
  • 2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
  • 1 tsp. garlic
  • dash of hot pepper sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 (No. 303) can tomatoes
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms
  • 1 (6 oz.) can water
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 large onion, chopped

Method

  • In large skillet in hot fat, brown garlic, then remove.
  • In same oil, saute onion until tender, then add crumbled meat; sprinkle with flour and cook, stirring, until meat loses red color.
  • Add rest of ingredients.
  • Stirring occasionally, cook over low heat to simmer, covered, for approximately 2 hours.
