Ingredients
- 1/2 bushel tomatoes
- 2 onions
- 2 Tbsp. basil
- 1 Tbsp. oregano
- 4 to 5 cloves garlic
- 1 1/2 c. oil
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. canning salt
- 2 hot peppers or to taste
- 1 large green pepper
- 4 (12 oz.) cans tomato paste
Method
- Simmer all ingredients except oil and paste for 3 hours.
- Run through strainer or food processor.
- Cook 1 hour longer and add oil and tomato paste.
- Cook 15 to 20 minutes longer.
- Can or freeze.
- Ready when you need sauce; just add whatever meat you desire.
