Ingredients

  • 4 oz. spaghetti
  • 1 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
  • nonstick cooking spray
  • 1 c. low-fat cottage cheese
  • 1/2 lb. ground turkey or beef
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp. fennel seed (optional)
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1/2 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese

Method

  • In saucepan, cook spaghetti until tender.
  • Drain.
  • Return to saucepan.
  • Stir in margarine until melted.
  • Stir in egg and Parmesan cheese.
  • Spray a 9-inch pie plate with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Press spaghetti mixture into the bottom and up the sides of pie plate, forming a crust.
  • Spread cottage cheese over crust.
