Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp. oil
  • 1/4 c. minced onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 (6 ounce.) can tomato paste
  • 1 (15 ounce.) can tomato sauce
  • 2 c. shredded Swiss cheese
  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • 1 (10 3/4 ounce.) can cheddar cheese soup, undiluted
  • 1 loaf French or possibly Italian bread, cubed

Method

  • Heat oil in large saucepan.
  • Add in onion and seasoning, cook and stir till onion is transparent.
  • Stir in tomato paste and sauce.
  • Cook over low heat 15-20 min, stirring occasionally.
  • Toss Swiss cheese with flour.
  • Keeping pan over low heat, gradually add in cheese to sauce.
  • Stir till all cheese is melted.
  • Blend in soup; heat and stir till smooth.
  • Keep hot.
  • May be served in bowl, chafing dish or possibly fondue pot.
  • Dip bread chunks into sauce and enjoy.
  • Served with a tossed green salad.
