Ingredients

  • 3 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 c. olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 c. onion, chopped
  • 1 1/2 c. green peppers, chopped
  • 3/4 c. celery, diced
  • 2 large cans whole tomatoes
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 pinches oregano
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 can mushroom buttons, drained
  • 1 1/2 c. stuffed green olives, sliced
  • 1 (10 to 12 oz.) pkg. spaghetti

Method

  • Heat oil and brown meat until just done.
  • Add onion, garlic, green pepper, celery, tomatoes, bay leaves, oregano and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Cover and simmer 3 hours.
  • During the last half hour, add the olives and mushrooms.
  • Cook spaghetti according to directions.
  • Rinse and drain.
  • Place spaghetti in a large shallow baking dish or casserole.
  • Cover with sauce and bake at 325° about 1 hour.
  • Serves 10 to 14.
