Ingredients
- 1 lb. lean beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 5 fresh tomatoes, peeled and chopped, or 1 large can tomatoes
- 1 (6 oz.) can unsalted tomato paste
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 1/2 tsp. basil
- 1/2 tsp. fennel seed
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. dry spaghetti, cooked
Method
- Brown ground beef in a large skillet; pour off fat.
- Add remaining ingredients, except for spaghetti.
- Cover and simmer over low heat for 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
- If sauce appears too thick, add water.
- Serve over spaghetti.
