Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 1/4 c. self-rising yellow cornmeal mix
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 2 cut-up hot peppers
  • 1/2 diced bell pepper
  • 1 diced tomato
  • 1 small can cream-style corn
  • 1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • buttermilk
  • pinch of baking soda
  • 1/4 c. oil

Method

  • Mix everything except oil with buttermilk which has the baking soda in it.
  • Spray a large iron skillet with Pam.
  • Put the oil and batter in the skillet and bake 15 to 20 minutes at 350°, or until the cornbread is golden brown.
