- 3/4 c. self-rising flour
- 1 1/4 c. self-rising yellow cornmeal mix
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 2 Tbsp. melted butter
- 1 beaten egg
- 2 cut-up hot peppers
- 1/2 diced bell pepper
- 1 diced tomato
- 1 small can cream-style corn
- 1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
- buttermilk
- pinch of baking soda
- 1/4 c. oil
Method
- Mix everything except oil with buttermilk which has the baking soda in it.
- Spray a large iron skillet with Pam.
- Put the oil and batter in the skillet and bake 15 to 20 minutes at 350°, or until the cornbread is golden brown.
