Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 1/2 c. sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 c. sour cream

Method

  • Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat eggs and blend eggs and vanilla with butter mixture.
  • Add flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg alternately with sour cream to the butter and egg mixture.
  • Mix well after each addition.
  • Chill 2 hours or overnight.
  • Roll out on lightly floured surface 1/4 inch thick. Cut with 3-inch round cookie cutter.
  • Place on well-greased cookie sheet.
  • Sprinkle with sugar.
  • Bake at 450° for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
