Ingredients
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 1 egg, separated
- 1 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- jelly
Method
- Cream butter until soft.
- Blend in sugar.
- Add egg yolk, beating until light.
- Blend in flour.
- Roll dough into small balls. Dip in egg white and then roll in egg white and finally in chopped nuts.
- Place ball on greased cookie sheet.
- Make depression in center of each ball.
- Bake 5 minutes in slow oven and press down center again.
- Continue baking for about 15 minutes longer.
- Cool slightly and fill centers with jelly.
- Yields approximately 1 dozen cookies.
