Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 c. vegetable shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. light brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. white sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 5 c. sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 pkg. (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method

  • Cream butter, shortening, brown sugar and white sugar.
  • Add eggs and vanilla.
  • Beat until light and fluffy.
  • Sift together flour, salt and baking soda.
  • Stir into creamed mixture.
  • Add chocolate chips.
  • Drop dough by rounded teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake in 375° oven until cookies are brown around edge but centers are not done, 8 to 9 minutes.
  • Makes 96 cookies.
