Ingredients

  • 1 envelope plain gelatin
  • 1/4 c. cool water
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • Juice of 1 lemon or possibly 1/4 c. lemon juice

Method

  • Soak gelatin in water for 5 min.
  • Add in boiling water and sugar and stir till dissolved.
  • Add in strained lemon juice and refrigeratetill it begins to harden.
  • Beat egg white till stiff and add in to slightly thickened mix.
  • Beat whole mix till spongy and refrigeratetill solid.
  • Serve with Custard Sauce.
  • CUSTARD SAUCE: Beat together yolk, sugar and cornstarch.
  • Add in scalded lowfat milk to egg yolk mix and heat till thickened, stirring all the time.
  • Flavor with vanilla and let cold.
