Ingredients

  • 1 c. soft butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 3/4 c. flour, sifted
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar

Method

  • Mix thoroughly butter, sugar and eggs.
  • Sift together flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt; stir in.
  • Roll into balls the size of small walnuts.
  • Roll in mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
  • Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
  • Bake until lightly browned but soft.
  • These cookies puff up at first, then flatten out.
  • Bake at 325° in a moderate hot oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
