Ingredients
- 1/2 cups Smoked Gouda, Cubed
- 1 teaspoon Chives, Chopped
- 1/3 cups Heavy Cream Or Half-and-Half
- 1 Tablespoon Butter
- 1 dash Lemon Zest
Method
- Cube smoked gouda and chop chives; set aside.
- In a small sauce pan, add cream and butter, allowing to warm up and the butter to melt. Add in cubed gouda cheese and chives.
- Melt cheese and stir into cream until completely combined. When fully incorporated, whisk together or use hand blender to ensure smooth and creamy consistency.
- At the end, add a dash of lemon zest if you'd like. It's completely optional, but it adds a nice lighter flavor to the sauce. It's wonderful with or without the lemon.
- I enjoyed it with the lemon. Pour over a piece of fried trout, salmon or any other fish that goes good with a smoky flavor!
