Ingredients
- 2/3 c. self-rising meal
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. milk
- 1 egg
- 4 Tbsp. melted fat
Method
- Put 1/2 fat in skillet.
- Place in preheated oven to heat while mixing bread.
- Mix wet ingredients.
- Mix the dry ingredients, then mix combine both mixtures.
- Pour into hot skillet and bake 20 minutes at 425° or until top is crusty brown.
- This recipe doubles and triples easily, but for best results must be cooked in an iron skillet.
