- 2 lb. headless raw shrimp
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 2 Tbsp. green pepper, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 1/2 to 2 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. parsley, chopped
- 1 pinch of thyme
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1 tsp. salt
- dash of cayenne pepper
Method
- Peel, devein and wash shrimp.
- Saute onion in oil (about 6 to 8 minutes).
- Stir in garlic and green pepper.
- Saute for 2 minutes.
- Blend in flour; add tomato sauce and simmer 5 minutes. Stir in water, thyme, parsley, shrimp, salt and pepper.
- Cover and simmer 30 minutes.
- Serve over cooked rice.
