- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 (No. 2 1/2) can tomatoes
- 1 (8 oz.) can seasoned tomato sauce
- 1 or 2 envelopes spaghetti sauce mix
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- salt to taste
- 1 (18 oz.) pkg. lasagna or wide noodles
- 1 (6 or 8 oz.) pkg. sliced Mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
Method
- Brown meat; spoon off excess fat.
- Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, spaghetti sauce mix and garlic.
- Cover; simmer for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Season.
- Cook noodles in boiling salted water until tender; drain and rinse in cold water.
- Place half the noodles in an 11 1/2 x 7 1/2 x 1 1/2-inch baking dish.
- Cover with 1/3 the sauce.
- Top with half the Mozzarella.
- Repeat layers, ending with sauce; top with Parmesan cheese.
- Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Let stand for 15 minutes; cut into squares.
