Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 (No. 2 1/2) can tomatoes
  • 1 (8 oz.) can seasoned tomato sauce
  • 1 or 2 envelopes spaghetti sauce mix
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • salt to taste
  • 1 (18 oz.) pkg. lasagna or wide noodles
  • 1 (6 or 8 oz.) pkg. sliced Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese

Method

  • Brown meat; spoon off excess fat.
  • Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, spaghetti sauce mix and garlic.
  • Cover; simmer for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Season.
  • Cook noodles in boiling salted water until tender; drain and rinse in cold water.
  • Place half the noodles in an 11 1/2 x 7 1/2 x 1 1/2-inch baking dish.
  • Cover with 1/3 the sauce.
  • Top with half the Mozzarella.
  • Repeat layers, ending with sauce; top with Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.
  • Let stand for 15 minutes; cut into squares.
