- 2 lb. ground beef
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (12 oz.) can tomato paste
- 2 (20 oz.) cans whole tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 1 (16 oz.) pkg. lasagna noodles
- 1 Tbsp. oil (for cooking water)
- 3 c. Swiss cheese, cut up
- 1 (24 oz.) carton cottage cheese (whole curd)
Method
- Brown beef and garlic; add tomato paste, tomatoes and spices and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Cook the lasagna noodles, adding one tablespoon of oil to the water.
- When cooked, drain the lasagna. Layer in a 9 x 13 x 2-inch pan, starting with the sauce and ending with cheese.
- Bake at 350° for 50 minutes.
- Let sit for 15 minutes before serving.
