Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (12 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 2 (20 oz.) cans whole tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1 (16 oz.) pkg. lasagna noodles
  • 1 Tbsp. oil (for cooking water)
  • 3 c. Swiss cheese, cut up
  • 1 (24 oz.) carton cottage cheese (whole curd)

Method

  • Brown beef and garlic; add tomato paste, tomatoes and spices and simmer for 20 minutes.
  • Cook the lasagna noodles, adding one tablespoon of oil to the water.
  • When cooked, drain the lasagna. Layer in a 9 x 13 x 2-inch pan, starting with the sauce and ending with cheese.
  • Bake at 350° for 50 minutes.
  • Let sit for 15 minutes before serving.
