Ingredients

  • 12 oz. tenderloin chuck
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 c. oil
  • 6 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 tsp. shallots
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 1/4 c. scallions
  • 1 tsp. brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. soy sauce
  • 3/4 c. beef broth
  • 4 oz. sherry
  • 2 tsp. sesame seed

Method

  • Toss meat in flour and shake off excess.
  • Brown beef on all sides in oil, 3 to 4 minutes; drain oil.
  • Lower heat; add butter, garlic, shallots and ginger.
  • Stir 1 minute.
  • Add sherry, soy sauce, brown sugar and beef broth.
  • Bring to a boil for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Add scallions and sesame seed.
  • Serve over rice or fettucini noodles.
