Ingredients

  • 4 slices serrano ham
  • extra-virgin olive oil
  • 4 bread long slices, sliced finely
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 4 ounces white wine
  • tomato sauce thick, for dipping

Method

  • Fry the ham slices in oil heated on low heat until they change color. Remove from the oil and reserve covered so they do not cool down too much.
  • In the same skillet, fry the bread on both sides and reserve covered so it also does not cool down.
  • In the same skillet, add the sugar and caramelize it a bit. Remove the skillet from the flame and add the vinegar and white wine. Then add to the flame again and stir until the sugar has dissolved and the sauce has reduced.
  • Place the ham on top of the toast and sprinkle the sauce on top. Serve with tomato sauce for dipping.
