Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 c. flour (1 Kings 4:22)
  • 2 c. sugar (Jeremiah 6:20)
  • 2 c. figs (Nahum 3:12)
  • 6 eggs (Jeremiah 17:11)
  • 2 tsp. baking powder (Amos 4:5)
  • 6 tsp. honey (1 Samuel 14:25)
  • 1 c. butter (Judges 5:25b)
  • 2 c. raisins (1 Samuel 30:12)
  • 2 c. almonds (Numbers 17:8)
  • 1 c. milk (Judges 4:19b)
  • 1/4 tsp. salt (Leviticus 2:13)
  • season to taste with spice (2 Chronicles 9:9)

Method

  • Cream together the butter and sugar.
  • Dredge raisins with small amount of flour.
  • Sift together the dry ingredients. Alternate by adding flour and milk.
  • Add honey and figs.
  • Fold in raisins and almonds.
  • Pour into Bundt or tube pan (well-greased). Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
  • Makes a nice holiday cake.
