Ingredients

  • 2 c. self-rising flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 c. Wesson oil
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped pecans

Method

  • Mix
  • together in a big bowl flour, sugar, cocoa, cinnamon
  • and salt.
  • Melt
  • in
  • saucepan 1 stick butter, oil and water; bring
  • to a boil.
  • Add dry with liquid ingredients and mix well. Add beaten eggs, soda and buttermilk.
  • Add vanilla. Stir
  • all together and pour into a greased, floured pan.
  • Cook at
  • 350°
  • for 30
  • to
  • 40 minutes.
  • While cake is hot from the oven, pour frosting on it.
