Ingredients

  • 2 lb. hamburger
  • 1 large bell pepper
  • 4 large white potatoes
  • 2 large onions
  • 2 cans mushroom soup
  • salt
  • pepper
  • grated Cheddar cheese

Method

  • In a skillet, brown hamburger and bell pepper.
  • Drain and set aside.
  • Peel and slice potatoes lengthwise.
  • Slice onions into rings.
  • In a large, deep baking dish, alternate thin layers of potatoes, onions, hamburger, mushroom soup and salt and pepper (about 3 layers of each).
  • Top with a thin layer of potatoes, sprinkled with Cheddar cheese.
  • Bake, covered, in a 350° oven for 40 to 45 minutes or until potatoes are soft.
