- 1/2 lb. mild pork sausage
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1 c. water
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
- 1 Tbsp. snipped parsley
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. garlic salt
- 1/2 tsp. dried oregano
- 1 large head cabbage, cut in six wedges
- 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
Method
- In 2-quart saucepan cook sausage, onion and green pepper until vegetables are tender.
- Drain off excess fat.
- Add water, tomato sauce, tomato paste, parsley, sugar, garlic salt and oregano. Cover and simmer 15 minutes; stirring once or twice.
- Cook cabbage wedges in a small amount of water until tender; about 10 minutes. Remove from skillet and drain.
- Arrange cabbage and pour sauce over it.
