Ingredients
- 1 lb. sausage
- 2 cans mushrooms (small)
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 2 c. long grain and wild rice
- 2 1/2 c. chicken broth
- 1/2 c. almonds, sliced
- 1 tsp. Accent
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1/2 c. heavy cream
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
Method
- Cook and drain rice.
- Cook and drain sausage.
- Saute onions in sausage fat.
- Drain fat and add sausage and mushrooms.
- Mix flour and cream until smooth.
- Add chicken broth and cook until thick; add remaining seasoning.
- Mix everything together in casserole pan and bake 30 minutes at 350°.
- Top with almonds.
- Serves 6.
