Ingredients
- 1 lb. pork sausage
- 1 stalk celery
- 1 c. raw rice
- 1 1/2 pkg. dry chicken noodle soup mix
- 1/2 bell pepper
- 1 medium onion
- 4 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. chopped almonds (optional)
Method
- Saute sausage scrambling until brown.
- Remove to casserole dish.
- Pour off all but 1 1/2 tablespoons of drippings.
- Saute celery, pepper and onion in drippings until tender (not brown). Mix rice and chicken noodle mix with 4 1/2 cups water.
- Boil 20 minutes.
- Stir to keep from sticking.
- Mix with sausage seasoning. Sprinkle almonds on top and bake 20 minutes on 325°.
