Ingredients
- 6 slices bread, crust trimmed
- 1 lb. sausage
- 1 1/2 c. (6 oz.) shredded cheese
- 6 eggs, beaten
- 2 c. half and half or milk
- 1 tsp. salt
Method
- Remove crust from bread and spread with melted margarine. Place in 13 x 9 x 2-inch casserole and set aside.
- Cook sausage and drain.
- Crumble sausage and spoon over bread.
- Sprinkle with shredded cheese.
- Combine cream or milk, eggs and salt.
- Mix well and pour over cheese.
- Cover dish and refrigerate overnight. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 45 minutes.
- Serve warm.
- Serves 8.
