Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. uncooked rice
  • 1 lb. sausage
  • 1 c. diced onion
  • 1 c. diced celery
  • 14 oz. jar spaghetti sauce
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 c. sliced green peppers
  • 1 c. sliced mushrooms

Method

  • Prepare rice according to directions.
  • Brown sausage and drain all excess fat.
  • In a skillet, combine sausage, onion, celery, spaghetti sauce and water.
  • Simmer until celery and onions are tender.
  • Add green peppers and mushrooms and simmer until peppers are tender and sauce is thickened.
  • Serve sausage and vegetables over rice.
  • Makes 4 servings.
