Sausage And Apples - Spy apples

Method

• Wash and core apples.
• Do not peel.
• Cut apples in eighths. Coat the apples with the melted butter and add Karo syrup. Mix spices with brown sugar and add to the apple/butter/Karo mixture. Place them in a flat casserole dish and bake at 300° for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until apples have a glazed appearance.
• It is better to make this dish a few hours ahead of time and let them stand in the liquid to enhance their flavor.
• Cook (fry) sausage links, then place them upon the apples and return all to the oven to reheat for serving.
