Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 to 3 eggs
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/3 tsp. nutmeg
  • 3 or 4 c. flour
  • 1 c. milk
  • 3 Tbsp. melted butter or oleo
  • 3 heaping tsp. baking powder
  • dash of cinnamon

Method

  • Beat eggs and sugar together.
  • Add butter or oleo to milk. Put 1 cup flour, the baking powder, nutmeg and cinnamon together and mix into milk mixture.
  • Add enough flour so batter can be rolled out on a board.
  • Cut into donut shape.
  • Fry in hot Crisco (about 2 pounds).
  • Fry to a golden brown on both sides.
  • Drain on paper.
  • (I always put a piece of raw potato in the Crisco.)
