Ingredients

  • 1 c. honey
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 4 eggs, separated
  • 3 c. sifted flour
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. thick sour cream
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts

Method

  • Bring honey to a boil and then cool it.
  • Cream butter with sugar.
  • Add egg yolks, one at a time.
  • Beat until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in honey.
  • Sift flour with dry ingredients twice; add alternately with sour cream.
  • Stir in nuts.
  • Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into batter.
  • Spoon into buttered tube pan. Bake at 325° for 50 to 55 minutes or until done.
