Ingredients
- 6 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1 1/2 c. Crisco
- 1 egg
- 2 c. hot water
Method
- Into a large bowl, combine 2 1/4 cups flour, salt, sugar and yeast.
- Mix at low speed, adding 2 cups hot water (120° to 130°) into the dry ingredients.
- Add Crisco also.
- Beat 2 minutes.
- Add 1 cup flour and beat 2 more minutes.
- With a spoon, mix in the rest of the flour and knead until smooth.
- Let rise until doubled. Make into buns and bake at 375°.
