- 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 c. tomato juice
- 3/4 c. old fashioned rolled oats, uncooked
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1/4 c. finely chopped onion
- 1 c. finely chopped celery
- 1 tsp. poultry seasoning
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1 tsp. dried parsley
- paprika to taste
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce (optional)
Method
- Saute onion and celery until tender-crisp in oil.
- Next mix everything except sauce.
- Add to meat and mix well.
- Pack tightly into a pan or ring and bake in a preheated 350° oven for 1 hour. Pour tomato sauce on top before baking.
- Let stand about 5 minutes before cutting.
