Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 c. tomato juice
  • 3/4 c. old fashioned rolled oats, uncooked
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 c. finely chopped onion
  • 1 c. finely chopped celery
  • 1 tsp. poultry seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tsp. dried parsley
  • paprika to taste
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce (optional)

Method

  • Saute onion and celery until tender-crisp in oil.
  • Next mix everything except sauce.
  • Add to meat and mix well.
  • Pack tightly into a pan or ring and bake in a preheated 350° oven for 1 hour. Pour tomato sauce on top before baking.
  • Let stand about 5 minutes before cutting.
