Ingredients
- 2 c. sifted flour
- 2 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. melted butter
- 1 1/2 c. raw oatmeal
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 5 c. fresh rhubarb or apples, cut up
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 c. water
- 4 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 Tbsp. vanilla
Method
- Combine first 5 ingredients.
- Press half of this mixture into a greased 9 1/2 x 13-inch baking pan.
- Cover with rhubarb or apples.
- Cook sugar, water, cornstarch and vanilla until clear and thick.
- Pour over fruit and top with the remaining crumbly mix. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
