Ingredients
- 1 medium to large head cabbage, shredded
- 2 medium onions, sliced and separated
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 c. vinegar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. mustard seed
- 1 tsp. prepared mustard
- 1 c. vegetable oil
Method
- Place cabbage and onions in layers in a large bowl.
- Pour 3/4 cup sugar over this mixture.
- Bring vinegar, salt, 1 teaspoon sugar, mustard seed and prepared mustard to a boil.
- Add vegetable oil.
- Beat mixture well.
- Spoon over cabbage mixture.
- Cover and let set in refrigerator for 24 hours before serving.
- Will keep 2 to 3 weeks.
