Ingredients

  • 21/2 cups flour 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 oz red food color
  • 1 cup cooking oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teasp of baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teasp salt
  • Cream sugar and oil, add eggs, beat well. add vinegar and food coloring mix well.
  • Sift dry ingredients then add flour & dry ingredients,alternately with buttermilk,add vanilla. beat well.

Method

  • bake 350 degrees for 25-30 mins. Use 2-9 inch layer round pan.
  • Frosting.
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1 8 oz of cream cheese
  • 1 cup of chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1 box powered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Cream butter and cream cheese, add vanilla, mix well, add nuts. Frost cooled cake
