Ingredients
- 3 strips bacon
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 onion, minced
- 1 green pepper, minced
- 1/2 c. elbow macaroni
- 1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
Method
- Dice the bacon; cook in a large skillet until crisp.
- Crumble in ground beef and brown well; drain off excess fat.
- Add remaining ingredients, slightly breaking up tomatoes and dampening macaroni.
- Cover and simmer gently for 20 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serves 4 to 6.
