Ingredients

  • 1 lb. round steak
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 6 oz. mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 can beef broth
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. flour

Method

  • Trim fat from meat.
  • Cut meat diagonally across grain in strips 1/4-inch wide.
  • Brown quickly in butter.
  • Push meat to one side. Add mushrooms and onion.
  • Cook just until tender.
  • Add broth.
  • Heat to boiling.
  • Blend sour cream and flour.
  • Stir into broth.
  • Cook and stir until mixture thickens.
  • Season to taste.
  • Serve over hot buttered noodles.
  • Serves 4 or 5.
