Ingredients
- 4 slices bread (any kind)
- 1 lb pork sausage or 1 lb turkey sausage
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 6 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 dash pepper
Method
- Butter or grease a 13 x 9 x 2 baking dish.
- Tear up the bread slices and place pieces in the prepared baking dish.
- Brown and drain the sausage.
- Spoon sausage over bread, and sprinkle with the cheese.
- Beat together the eggs and milk.
- Mix in the dry mustard, salt and pepper.
- Pour over the mixture in baking dish.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- In the morning, remove casserole from the refrigerator and let sit on the counter while preheating the oven to 350.
- Remove cover and put in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
- Cheese will rise to the top during baking.
- Let stand for 10 minutes before cutting.
