Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. ginger
  • 3/4 c. pumpkin
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. nuts, chopped

Method

  • Cream shortening and sugar.
  • Add eggs; mix well.
  • Add dry ingredients alternately with pumpkin.
  • Stir in vanilla and nuts. Spread evenly in greased and floured 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Cool; spread with Orange Frosting.
