Ingredients

  • 10-12 slices bread, trim off crust ends
  • 3 cups cooked crab/tuna/shrimp/chicken or turkey
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/3 cup green pepper, chopped
  • 1/2-3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 can cream of chicken or mushroom soup, mixed with 1/2 can water
  • 1 cup grated cheese
  • paprika, salt and pepper to taste

Method

  • Line bottom of greased 9x13 pan with 1/2 the bread slices. In a dish combine the meat, onion, celery, peppers, mayonnaise and salt and pepper.
  • Pour over bread.
  • Place remaining bread on top. Beat eggs and milk together and pour over second layer of bread. Cover and refrigerate several hours or overnight.
  • Before baking, pour soup over the top, sprinkle with cheese and paprika.
  • Bake uncovered 1 hour 15 minutes at 350°.
